A mine tour of the BHP Mt Whaleback mineisi available from the Newman Visitor Centre for $35 per adult.The tour is conducted using a comfortable bus with a knowledgeable tour guide who has worked at the mine for many years.The scale of the main iron ore pit (5km x 2km and 400 m deep) and the general mine operation is mind boggling.Highly recommended.
